Since 1992, Alexandre Mérineau has been a regular on some of the best televised series for young people. He is well-known to audiences as Guillaume in the very popular drama series, Watatatow, and as Sylvain in Club des 100 Watts. In 1993 he appeared in the European coproduction, Les Intrépides 2: Super Bols, starring Jessica Barker, which has been broadcast several times on Télé-Québec. Since 1997, he has played the part of Simon in Allo Prof!, a highly praised educational series broadcast by Télé-Québec and hosted by Bernard Fortin.

Alexandre Mérineau also enjoys an adult audience. He has especially drawn attention for his work in two televised series which have been well received by viewers. In 1994 he played the part of Gérard Robitaille opposite Joëlle Morin in the series Alys, directed by François Labonté and rebroadcast in 1998. Television audiences also saw him this year in the popular TV series L'Ombre de l'épervier, and admired his scrupulous portrayal of the yuoung François. He is still working in television, and audiences will once again have the opportunity to see him in the made-for-TV movie, Un hiver de tourmente, a drama in which he plays Antoine, the lover of a young single mother.

Alexandre Mérineau made his film début in 1995 in Pierre Gang's Sous-sol, which was presented at Cannes in 1996. He will be seen in the long awaited, Quand je serai partie...vous vivrez encore, a film by Michel Brault about the imprisonment of members of the Patriotes.
